  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report. The termination had followed a review which found that the affected doctors had exceeded the allowable duration of their residency training and showed lack of academic progress.   Professor Jibril Aminu, a distinguished diplomat, statesman, and renowned medical scholar, has died at the age of 85. A family source confirmed that the former Minister of Education and Petroleum passed away on Thursday in Abuja after a prolonged illness. His funeral prayer is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. today at the Abuja National Mosque. Following the funeral prayer, his remains will be flown to Yola and later to Song Local Government Area of Adamawa State for final interment. Prof. Aminu was a respected cardiologist who earned his medical degree from the University of Ibadan in 1965, graduating as the best student from University College Hospital (UCH). He went on to obtain a PhD in Medicine from the Royal Postgraduate Medical School in London in 1972.

 DSS Not Seeking Arrest Over Utomi’s Shadow Government Plan, Says Counsel The Department of State Services (DSS) has no intention of arresting individuals involved in the proposed shadow government led by Patrick Utomi, the 2007 presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), according to the agency’s lead counsel, Akinlolu Kehinde (SAN). Speaking to journalists on Wednesday after filing a fresh application at the Federal High Court in Abuja, Kehinde clarified that the DSS is seeking a judicial interpretation of the legality of Utomi’s planned shadow government rather than pursuing arrests.
