Hillary Clinton's White House UFC jab backfires after critics point out what her husband did in 'our house' Hillary Clinton’s criticism of Donald Trump’s decision to host a UFC event at the White House sparked immediate backlash from conservatives. Clinton, who lost to Trump in the 2016 election, posted that the White House is “not his house” but “our house,” while promoting merchandise to support candidates she said would respect the institution.  Her remarks, however, were met with accusations of hypocrisy, with critics pointing to controversies from her and Bill Clinton’s time in office. Representative Tim Burchett and retired Lt. Col. Buzz Patterson were among those who responded sharply, referencing Bill Clinton’s scandal with Monica Lewinsky and alleged misconduct during his presidency.  Patterson, who said he carried the nuclear football for Clinton, accused Hillary of lecturing about respect while her husband engaged in inappropriate behavior and mishandled sensi...

Fire Guts Four Flats At Jama’a Emir’s Palace A fire outbreak on Friday gutted four flats at the Jama’a Emir’s Palace in Kafanchan, headquarters of Jama’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The affected flats were reportedly located in a section of the palace occupied by the Emir’s mother.  The incident occurred while the family was preparing for Magrib prayers. Eyewitnesses said officials of the Kaduna State Fire Service responded to a distress call but experienced initial challenges in containing the blaze, reportedly due to a malfunctioning pumping machine.  The delay allowed the fire to spread, destroying four flats before it was eventually brought under control. Security personnel and local volunteers assisted in efforts to salvage property and prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the palace. No casualties were recorded, but the inferno caused significant damage to property.  The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, and authorities have n...

They began withdrawing a week later under U.S. pressure and the Congolese army re-entered the city last month. AFC/M23 spokesperson Lawrence Kanyuka told Reuters he had been unaware of any mass graves during the group’s time in Uvira and accused the government of spreading propaganda to damage its reputation. Jean-Jacques Purusi, the Kinshasa-appointed governor of South Kivu province, where Uvira is located, told local reporters the graves had been found in the Kilomoni and Kavimvira neighbourhoods. One contained 31 bodies, the other 141, he added in comments made on Tuesday that wer...

Ghana 'back on track' after worst economic crisis in decades: president Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama on Friday said the country was rebounding from its worst economic crisis in decades, pointing to slowing inflation, a firmer currency, and falling debt as signs of stability. The West African nation sought an IMF bailout in December 2022 after surging debt, currency depreciation and soaring prices pushed it into default, forcing painful fiscal reforms and debt restructuring talks with creditors. To sustain the recovery, Mahama - re-elected in December 2024 - announced fresh spending to promote round-the-clock manufacturing and exports, tighter public procurement rules and new investment in the energy sector, including billions of dollars pledged for offshore oil and gas fields. Delivering his State of the Nation address to the parliament in Accra, Mahama declared that "Ghana is back" and "open for business", pitching the gold- and cocoa-producin...

DAVID MARK WAS A SENATOR FOR TWENTY YEARS. WHY DID HE NOT PASS LEGISLATION FOR REAL-TIME TRANSMISSION OF ELECTION RESULTS? - RENO OMOKRI. (PHOTO). #PRESS RELEASE

David Mark Was a Senator For Twenty Years. Why Did He Not Pass Legislation For Real-Time Transmission of Election Results?  David Mark served as a Senator for twenty good years. He was the most powerful Senate President for eight out of those twenty years. If real-time transmission of election results was possible, why did he not pass such a law when he held sway at the National Assembly?  Why did he wait until he was out of the National Assembly, and out of power, before coming up with this unrealistic proposal for real-time transmission of results?  While electronic voting and electronic transmission of election results are very feasible and are provided for in the amended Electoral Act, which every patriotic Nigerian should support, at 77 years of age, it is believed that Senator David Mark has the experience and knowledge of the fact that no country on Earth has real-time transmission of results. This man was the Communications Minister, for goodness' sake. He k...
