 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMAN SINGER PERCY SLEDGE,DIES AT THE AGE OF 73 TODAY.

                                  East Baton Rouge parish,Louisiana Coroner Dr William Beau Clark,confirmed to the Associated press that musician Percy Sledge,died early tuesday morning.The news was also confirmed to ABC News by his agent of 35 years Steve Green,who said that the singer died after a long battle with cancer.He was best known for recording the 1966 classic ''When a man loves a woman'',that made number one hit.He was born in Leighton,Alabama on November 25,1941.His first recording took him from hospital orderly to a long touring career averaging 100 performances a year and an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame in 2005.He released his last album ''The Gospel of Percy Sledge'',in 2013.More photos below.
