 ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND RECEIVES AND AUGMENTS IGP’S MONITORING UNIT OPERATIVES ON ENFORCEMENT OF POLICE PERSONNEL WITHDRAWAL FROM VIP ESCORT DUTIES IN THE STATE The Anambra State Police Command today 8th December 2025 formally received operatives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP)’s Monitoring Unit deployed to the state to ensure full implementation of the IGP’s directive on the withdrawal of police personnel from VIP escort and guard duties. The Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to supporting the IGP’s reform efforts targeted at enhancing professionalism, discipline, and optimal deployment of police manpower nationwide. The CP noted that the withdrawal of these officers will help to strengthen public policing, improve response capacity, and ensure that more personnel are available for core policing duties across the state. ABOUT 50 PEOPLE WERE KILLED TODAY,IN A BOMB-BLAST IN MAIDUGURI MEAT MARKET.

                    According to eyewitnesses,a bomblast hit a busy meat market in Nigeria cit of Maiduguri today tuesday,killing as many as 50 people.The bomb was concealed under a butcher's table in the market,went off at around 1pm today afternoon killing shoppers and travelers.Nobody has claimed responsibility for the latest explosion,which follows two bomb attacks over the weekend that killed at least 30 people and bore the hall marks of militant islamist group Boko Haram.Witnesses said further that they heard a loud explosion saying ''It shook our school building and i had to run away.I saw military vehicles with soldiers moving towards the area.
