 PDP Hails INEC’s Publication Of 2027 Candidates The Peoples Democratic Party has welcomed the publication by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of the names of candidates for the 2027 general election, describing the development as a proof of doubts over its ability to field a presidential candidate had been laid to rest. A statement issued in Abuja by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, said the release of the names of its presidential candidate, Senator Sandy Ojang Onor, and running mate, Alhaji Babangida Umar, alongside its National Assembly candidates, marked a significant milestone in its preparations for the 2027 polls. The Party noted that the publication had effectively dispelled months of speculation and what it described as misinformation by political opponents who had claimed the party would be unable to present a presidential candidate. THE LEG OF A LAWMA WORKER FUNKE WAS AMPUTATED,AFTER A BUS DRIVER CHINEDU KNOCKED HER DOWN AT IGANDO.

                  38 year old Obi Chinedu a public bus driver,has been arrested and charged before Ejigbo Magistrate for allegedly knocking down a staff of Lagos State Waste Management Authority,LAWMA,which led to the amputation of her leg in a hospital in Lagos state.The incident happened at Cele bus stop along Isheri-Igando expressway where the victim Mrs Funke Olorunda was on official duty.She was rushed to Igando General Hospital where she was referred to the National Orthopedic Hospital in Igobi Lagos.Due to the seriousness of the injury she sustained,her left leg was amputated to save her life.She is now walking with one leg with the aid of a walking stick.The bus driver was arrested and detained at the police station in Idimu Division before he was charged to court with driving in a dangerous manner and knocking down Funke which caused amputation of her leg.Chinedu,through his counsel,informed the court about his regrets concerning the accident and expressed his willingness to settle the matter out of court and treat the victim.The presiding Magistrate,Mrs J.O.E Adeyemi granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in the like sum.Chinedu was remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri pending when he will perfect his bail condition.The case was adjourned till 6th of September,2015.
