 Lagos Demolition Victim Begs Govt: “We’re Not Animals” A 63-year-old victim of the Oworonshoki demolition has appealed to the Lagos State Government for urgent help, saying many displaced residents are stranded without shelter. Speaking on Channels TV’s Morning Brief, she said residents received no notice before the demolition and that the N200,000–N300,000 given to some indigenes was insufficient to secure new housing. “We are not goats; we are not animals. Please help us,” she said, noting that many now sleep in water tanks and on the streets, including elderly and sick residents.

50 SOLDIERS DEAD,AS AL-SHABAAB MILITANTS ATTACKED AN AFRICAN UNION BASE IN SOMALIA TODAY.

                        Early today tuesday,Al-shabaab militants attacked an African Union {AU} base in southern Somalia killing dozens of soldiers.One of the Alshabaab fighters rammed a car bomb into the base and then gunmen poured inside the facility run by the AU peacekeeping mission in Somalia,AMISOM.50 peacekeepers were killed in the attack on Janale base,about 90km south of the capital Mogadishu.Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musab,Al Shabaab's military operations spokesman,told pressmen that ''Now Janale base of AMISOM is under our control''.Though the AU peacekeeping force said via Twitter without giving details on the casualties.''AMISOM can confirm that the base is still under AMISOM control.Reports that the base has been taken over and our weapons captured are false''.According to a Somali military officer Captain Bilow Idow ,who is based in a town near Janale said ''The Janale base was effectively cut off as the militants had destroyed a nearby bridge.No reinforcement can reach there.There is much death and damage''.
