 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion. ORTOM SYMPATHIZES WITH GBOKO MARKET FIRE VICTIMS TODAY.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has directed the Bureau of Internal Affairs to hasten the establishment of fire service units in major towns of the state.
Governor Ortom gave the directive today when he visited Gboko Main Market to sympathise with traders whose property were destroyed by fire yesterday.
The Governor who said the measure has become necessary to prevent fire incidents in the state, advised traders' unions to liaise with local government councils to sink boreholes around markets
Governor Ortom stated that the Gboko fire market inferno which he learnt was caused by electricity upsurge, would be investigated with a view to preventing future occurrences.
While advising the traders in the market to ensure that fire extinguishers are provided in their shops, the Governor also urged them to henceforth get professionals to carry out the electrification of the market.
He announced government's donation of N20 million to the affected traders to help mitigate the effect of the damage.
In her remark, the Chairman of Gboko Local Government, Mrs. Becky Orpin expressed appreciation to Governor Ortom for promptly going to sympathize with the traders over the destruction and appealed for the installation of fire service facilities at the market.Earlier, Chairman Gboko Main Market Traders Association, GBOMATA, Mr. Matthew Amauche narrated that the incident was caused by electricity upsurge and thanked Governor Ortom for coming to sympathize with them.
