A TENNESSEE FAMILY, AND AN ENTIRE COMMUNITY, HAS BEEN LEFT STUNNED AND GRIEVING AFTER A PACK OF DOGS TOOK THE LIFE OF A MAN OUT FOR A JOG.(PHOTO).

 A Tennessee family, and an entire community, has been left stunned and grieving after a pack of dogs took the life of a man out for a jog.

When 43-year-old Marko Bursey arrived in Henning, Tennessee, to visit his parents, he had no idea that he would never be returning back to his home in Nashville. Marko could have never imagined the terrible fate that awaited him, lurking in the woods, near an abandoned school. 

However, Marko's horrific death has had an indelible effect on not just his loved ones but an entire community as they search for answers on how this tragedy unfolded.

The recent release of the 911 call Marko made provides a window into the horror of that July morning. 

This father of six children had only recently arrived at his parents' home in Henning to visit with his loved ones. 

On the morning of July 20th, Marko was up early and determined to get a run-in before he drove his daughter to work. Marko headed for a nearby walking trail located behind the abandoned Palmer-Turner Center, where he would fall victim to a vicious attack. 

When Marko failed to show up and give his daughter a ride to work, she became concerned. That concern would grow and turn into outright fear. Marko's mother hopped into her car and drove by the walking trail to see if everything was alright with her son. 

When she saw first responders where her son was supposed to be, the family's nightmare began. 

Little is known about the circumstances leading up to the attack as well as specific details regarding the attack. What is known is that Marko passed away in a horrible way. 

First responders received a call regarding a deceased man and arrived at the scene at 7:12 a.m. They arrived on the scene to discover Marko deceased next to a chain link fence. The signs that Marko suffered a violent dog attack were obvious by the devastating injuries he had suffered. 

In addition to the 911 call made by a citizen, Marko had also called 911 as he struggled to stay alive. 

That 911 call has been released, and the last moments of Marko's life are as haunting as they are disturbing. 

In the recording, Marko's voice comes across as weak as he struggles to receive the help he desperately needs. The 911 operator asks where he is and what has happened multiple times. 

In response, Marko manages to utter "Palmer-Turner" and "I was attacked by dogs" before the remainder of the call is marked by an eerie silence.

Marko's family has struggled to come to terms with his tragic end as they search for answers. The details of the attack remain elusive, with a nearby security camera capturing a single dog seen going into the woods at 7:04 a.m.  Marko would make his 911 call seeking help only minutes later at 7:07 a.m.

The authorities responded to the attack by rounding up an undisclosed number of stray dogs in the days following the attack. Family members worry that without definitive knowledge regarding the exact dogs that were responsible, innocent dogs may be facing the consequences and that it leaves other citizens vulnerable to another attack by the actual dogs.

They also worry that the attack could have been the result of negligent owners. If that is the case, they believe the owner who let their dogs roam should be held accountable. 

One thing is for sure, the passing of Marko Bursey has left a general sense of unease throughout the community.  In the days following the attack, the town's mayor Quinton Reed addressed the issue, acknowledging that stray dogs have become a problem that has drawn multiple complaints from citizens. 

Marko's death remains under investigation by the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Office. We hope the investigation leads to answers that the family definitely deserves.
