PLATEAU STATE GOVERNOR SEEKS DEEPER SECURITY COLLABORATION WITH NAF In a bid to reinforce internal security and deepen intergovernmental collaboration, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Headquarters, Abuja, where he met with the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, DFS. The visit underscored the Governor’s commitment to leveraging strategic federal partnerships to address evolving security challenges in Plateau State and the wider North Central region, while conveying the goodwill of the government and people of the state and congratulating the CAS on his appointment as the 23rd Chief of the Air Staff. RIVERS STATE CHIEF JUDGE URGES FG TO IMPROVE PRISON CONDITION TODAY.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

      The Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Adama Iyaye-Laminkara has called on the Federal Government to improve the condition of the nation's prisons and take steps to create spaces in the corrective centres.
Speaking during a review session of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Prerogative of Mercy (PACPM) at the Port Harcourt Prisons on Friday, Justice Iyaye-Laminkanra commended the efforts ofthe Federal Government to de-congest the prisons.

She stated that the Rivers State Government has also taken steps to de-congest prisons in the state. She informed that last year, Governor Wike paid fines for over 200 in-mates who thereafter regained their freedom.
"Last year, I went on jail delivery to Port Harcourt and other prisons and I released about 80 in-mates who are deserving of the gesture. This year by November, I intend to embark on prisons delivery in the state ", she said.
Also, the Presidential Advisory Committee on Prerogative of Mercy (PACPM) reviewed cases of convicted in-mates at the Port Harcourt Federal Prisons.
The committee conducted the review process in the presence of the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Adama Iyaye-Laminkanra and the Solicitor-General of Rivers State, Mrs Florence Fiberesima.
The Committee Leader, Mr Williams Alo commended the Rivers State Government and the State Judiciary for the cooperation that made the review process possible.
He lauded the Chief Judge of Rivers State for her outstanding commitment to the administration of justice, which has made Rivers State a national reference point.
