 Republic of Congo holds presidential election, internet disruption reported Internet connectivity across the Republic of Congo was disrupted on Sunday as voters cast ballots in a presidential election, global internet watchdog NetBlocks said. Network data indicated a nation-scale disruption to internet access, the watchdog said on X. A similar near-total nationwide internet blackout was recorded during the country’s March 2021 presidential election, lasting about three days, according to NetBlocks. Polls opened at 6 am (0500GMT) in the country’s presidential election and will remain open until 6 pm (1700GMT). More than 2.6 million registered voters aged 18 and above are eligible to cast their ballots. Employment Scammer Bags 3 Years Over Fake TETFund Job

A Bauchi State High Court presided over by Justice M.M. Abubarkar has convicted and sentenced one Ibrahim Abubakar (aka Alhaji Sadiq Babati) to three years imprisonment on a two - count charge of criminal conspiracy and cheating to the tune of N2, 250,000 (Two Million Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) brought against him by the Gombe Zonal Command of the EFCC. The offences, according to the charge, were punishable under Section 97 and 322 of the Penal Code Law.

The defendant who was arraigned on September 27, 2021 alongside one Hassan Lemaji (now a convict) had pleaded not guilty to the charge. In the course of trial, he changed his plea to ‘guilty’, on which basis the trial judge, after the review of facts of the case, found him guilty and sentenced him accordingly.
