By Okechukwu Okolonji

Anambra State Government has expressed dismay over the unauthorised conversion of government properties to personal use in the motorcycle spare parts market, Uruagu, Nnewi.

This was made known on the visit of the Anambra State Task Force on demolition led by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Dr. Obinna Ngonadi and accompanied by the Chairman, Anambra State Physical Planning Board, Barr. Chike Maduekwe.

Speaking in an interview with the Press ,Dr. Obinna Ngonadi said that it is sad to notice that some people have converted some of the government's properties for their personal use.

He hinted that such acts are illegal and warned those involved to desist from it or be ready to face sanctions from the government.

The commissioner expressed satisfaction over the cooperation exhibited so far by the market executive toward the Gov. Chukwuma Soludo led administration.

He urged them to continue to maintain a clean and healthy environment in the market pointing that the Soludo’s administration has promised Ndi Anambra a livable, green mega city and the only way to achieve such is by the corporation of the traders and Ndi Anambra in general.

Ngonadi advised the market executive to pull down all the illegal structures built in the market.

In his reaction, the President, Nnewi Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Jude Osumuo commended the Gov. Soludo’s administration for its efforts in seeing that things were normal in the markets.

He pledged the support of the members to the state government, assuring that they would ensure that the market and its environment are clean. (MOI)
