 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. 2023: Kaduna Police Warns Politicians Against Violating Electoral Act

The Kaduna State Police Command has warned all political parties and their candidates to strictly abide by the Electoral Act towards ensuring peaceful 2023 general elections.

The Command also warned parents and guardians not to allow their wards to be used as thugs and trouble makers before, during and after the elections.

Addressing Executive members of the Kaduna State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) who paid a courtesy call to the Command, the State Commissioner of Police (CP), Yekini Adio Ayoku said there would be water tight security at the polls so that the election would be smooth without hitches in all parts of the State and the country.

Ayoku expressed satisfaction with journalists in the State, saying that he had not had any bad media report against his Command since he assumed office.

He assumed duty in April as the 40th Police commissioner of Kaduna State.

He said, “We are promising top notch security within the State during the 2023 general election. We shall provide tight security so that the election will go smoothly.”

The Commissioner of Police appealed to journalists to deny terrorists propaganda through the way they cast their headlines, pointing out that journalists occupied strategic position to safeguard the entire country.

Ayoku explained that the Command had made a lot of arrests and recovered arms and ammunition from criminal elements since he assumed office in the State.

He assured that the Command was doing everything possible to return Kaduna state to the pride of the nation.

Hajiya Asma’u Halilu, the NUJ Chairman, told the Police Commissioner that there was the need to improve on collaboration between the Union and the Police Command by availing information promptly to journalists.
