 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion. Cardinal Okpalaeke Condemns Economic Hardship, Insecurity Faced In Nigeria


The Catholic Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, Peter Cardinal Okpalaeke has expressed worry over the worsening insecurity and economic hardship being experienced in Nigeria which according has led to wanton loss of lives and means of livelihood for many. 

Cardinal Okpalaeke who expressed the displeasure in his 2022 Christmas message to Nigerians said though the situation is certain to trigger feelings of hopelessness, he is still encouraged by the resilience of Nigerians and the collective resolve not to be broken down but the level of faith, courage and determination for better tomorrow. 

He urged Nigerians to remain firm despite challenges as God is one who always triumphs in all situations.

In spite of the difficulties faced in the country, the prelate called on Nigerians, to be joyful and thankful to God for the gift of himself to mankind at Christmas. 

He said though that the current challenges in the country may force some people not to travel home or to their preferred destinations for the Christmas celebration and accompanying reunions, but asked them not dampen allow it spirits.

Disclosing that Christmas is one of those moments to strengthen man's grip on God and reflect on his love for humanity, Cardinal Okpalaeke said that the season is a time the human vulnerability, and frailty embrace and unite with the perfection and holiness of God in the person of Jesus Christ.

Cardinal Okpalaeke said the love shown to mankind in Jesus Christ is a challenge to everyone to be worthy ambassadors of love in the world, and to move away from their comfort zone and express their love to their brothers and sisters. 

He encouraged Christians to do away with hatred, selfishness, greed, and insincerity that have kept the country where it is today and embrace love for one another regardless of tribe, tongue, region, religion or even political affiliation.
