 Nigerian military jet crashes in Niger A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha Jet has reportedly crashed near Karabonde, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, on Saturday evening, December 6. Unconfirmed reports from local sources clam that the two pilots onboard survived the incident after successfully ejecting from the aircraft. A Niger state-based digital television network, Lapai TV, announced the tragic incident  in a post on its official Facebook account on Saturday evening, December 6. The post, accompanied by a one-minute video, read, “Two Nigerian Air Force Pilots Reportedly Survive Alpha Jet Crash Close to Karabonde, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State”. It was reported that the two pilots successfully ejected before the aircraft went down. Meanwhile, the Nigerian military has yet to make any official statement concerning about the crash as of the time of filing this report.

ENUGU POLICE OPERATIVES ARREST ONE MALE SUSPECT, RECOVER FIREARM AND AMMUNITION

- As operational, investigation and intelligence-gathering activities are intensified to actualize 2022 yuletide security and safety plan

In pursuance of the Enugu State Police Command's 2022 Yuletide Security and Safety Plan, Police Operatives serving in Awkunanaw Division, with assistance from Neighbourhood Watch Group, while on surveillance operation on 24/12/2022 at about 9.30pm, arrested one Sunday Chukwu (male) aged 21 and found in his unlawful possession, one (1) locally-fabricated pistol with one (1) live cartridge, which him and cohorts at large are suspected to be perfecting plans to use and perpetrate their criminal intentions this festive season.

2. The case is undergoing further discreet investigation, while operational, investigation and intelligence gathering activities geared towards actualizing maximum security and safety in the State, have been intensified.
