 Renowned 20th-century philosopher Jürgen Habermas dies at 96 Jürgen Habermas, the German philosopher widely recognized for his contributions to modern political thought and democratic theory, died Saturday in Starnberg, Germany, at the age of 96. His passing was confirmed in a statement by his Berlin-based publisher, Suhrkamp Verlag, which noted that Habermas’s work, translated into more than 40 languages, had left a lasting impact on global intellectual discourse. Jonathan Landgrebe, head of the publishing house, described him as “a significant philosopher, ever-present advisor, and dear friend.” For more than six decades, Habermas helped shape postwar and post-reunification German political life. He is best known for conceptualizing the “public sphere,” a domain for discussion free from state influence, which he argued is essential for a functioning democracy. We Didn’t Monitor Any Labour Party Congress In Abia, Imo, Enugu, Anambra, Ebonyi States- INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has said they didn’t monitor any Congress conducted by the Labour Party in Abia, Imo, Enugu, Anambra and Ebonyi States.

The electoral umpire made the disclosure in a letter dated 17th April written to APC Zonal Chairman.

Dr. Ijeoma Arodiogbu, APC National Vice Chairman, South East had written the commission requesting “for Confirmation of the conduct of Ward, LGA and State Congresses as well as list of Delegates of Labour Party in Abia, Imo, Enugu, Anambra and Ebonyi States.”

But in a letter signed by Rose Oriaran-Anthony: Secretary to the Commission, INEC said they weren’t notified by the Labour Party for the conduct of any of their congresses.

“This is to inform you that by the records of the Commission, Labour Party did not notify the Commission of dates for the conduct of Ward, LGA and State Congresses and Delegates lists

“Accordingly, the Commission did not monitor any Ward, LGA and State Congresses for election of Delegates by the Party.”
