 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. 14 Escape Dëäth As Bus Bursts Into Flames On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

A Toyota Hiace with number plate AFN117YL burst into flames while in motion on the long bridge of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Saturday morning.

Fourteen passengers escaped the fire unhurt. 

The bus headed to Ilorin, Kwara State, reportedly caught fire while in motion.

Speaking with PUNCH, the bus driver, Razak Ajiboro, said one of the tyres exploded while the bus was in motion.

"The front tyre at the driver's side of the bus burst while it was in motion. The impact on the median was what caused the fire. 

"It was just the grace of God that helped us; if not, the bus would have fallen off the bridge. 

"God controlled the bus and not me, the driver. If not, we'd all be dead by now.

"There were 14 passengers in the bus, besides a few scratches, none of them sustained serious injuries, neither was there loss of any life," the driver said.
