 𝐁𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢, 𝐀𝐛𝐛𝐚𝐬, 𝐀𝐤𝐮𝐦𝐞, 𝐎𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐬 𝐖𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝟕𝟔𝟐 𝐅𝐂𝐓 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has revoked the lands allocated to several prominent Nigerians, including former President Muhammadu Buhari, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, due to non-payment of Certificate of Occupancy fees. Also, 759 other prominent figures and organisations in Maitama II, Abuja. were also affected by the revocation which was for non-payment of Certificate of Occupancy. BOAT MISHAP CLAIMS 12 LIVES IN NIGER


Boat mishap from two seperate accidents in two Local Government Areas of Niger state has claimed twelve lives.

Acting Director General Niger State Emergency Management Agency NSEMA Alhaji Salihu Garba announced this in an interview with Newsmen in Minna the state capital.

Alh Salihu Garba explained that the incident which occured recently in two Local Government Areas of Borgu and Shiroro also left some other people injured.

Accoding to him ten people have died from the two incidences of boat mishap at Wulakani community in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger state while another two lost their lives from the boat mishap at Gusoro, Shiroro Local Government Area.

He attributed causes of the accidents to strong wind, under water storm, overloading and lack of adherence to safety rules as well as non application of life jackets by some drivers.

Alh Salihu Garba further explained that the Niger State Emergency Management Agency NSEMA is not resting on its oars in educating and enlightening those engaged on water transport on safety measures to overcome problems associated with boat mishap and other challenges for maximum benefits.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
