 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Police Confirms Abduction of Lafia Polytechnic Student

 Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of a student of Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic Lafia, Nasarawa State during a robbery incident.

Police Public Relation Officer PPRO SP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident in Lafia.

According to the PPRO, the police around 10:30pm yesterday received a distress call that armed robbery was taking place in a house at Ombi 1, Lafia near the institution.

He explained that, Upon receipt of the report, Police men were immediately drafted to the scene and on arrival, it was discovered that three people were injured and the victims were rushed by the police to the Dalhatu Araf specialist Hospital Lafia for treatment. 

The PPRO said that the command has launched an investigation into the case as the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Maiyaki has deployed all tactical teams of the command to go after the perpetrators of the act.

SP Ramhan Nansel therefore, called on the public to provide the police with useful information that lead to the rescue of the victim and arrest of the perpetrators of the crime.
