M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". Indecent Dressing Isn’t An Offense, No Police Should Harass You- Edafe

The Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Police Command, Bright Edafe, has clarified that wearing indecent attire is not considered an offence, and therefore, no law enforcement officer should arrest individuals based on their clothing choices.

Edafe emphasized the need to address this issue publicly due to the frequent complaints of harassment from the public, particularly Delta residents, regarding this matter.

He made it clear that security personnel have no authority to harass or attempt to arrest individuals based on dress code.

Edafe in a video posted on his X handle on Tuesday, October 3, said: “I have been getting complaints that members of the public, particularly residents in Delta State are being harassed by some vigilantes, anti-cult, hunters association and some recalcitrant police officers.

“I want to make it very clear that on the issue of dress code, improper dressing, boys carrying dreadlocks, wearing earrings, girls bum shorts, miniskirts or going out without bra; it is not an offence.

“That circular was debunked by the state government hence, no policeman or vigilante or anti-cult or anybody can harass you for that. My number is 08131070122. If you call me and I don’t pick up, kindly send a text message.

“And if they insist that it’s an offence, you yourself, you should insist that you want the matter to be taken to a police station. When you get to the police station, you’ll be able to reach out to me. However, I really want you to know that it is not an offence.”

He added in the clip caption: “As requested by my wonderful followers, and residents in the State. No policeman, or vigilante, can arrest you over dreadlocks, bum shorts, or because you are braless, etc. It’s not an offence. My phone number is on the video for you to reach me immediately. Peace
