 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. Parliamentary Workers Shut Down Nassarawa State House Of Assembly 


                           


Parliamentary workers in Nasarawa State have shut down the State House of Assembly following a peaceful protest over non implementation of financial autonomy to the legislative arm of the government.


The State Chairman of Parliamentary  Staff Association of Nigeria ,Comrade Suleiman Oshafu in an interview in Lafia said the decision to shut down the state House of Assembly complex was in compliance with the nationwide indefinite strike declared by the national body of the association.


He stated that the State House of Assembly complex would remain closed until the state governor commence full  implementation of financial independence of the legislative arm of the government.


Comrade Oshafu noted that Parliamentary workers in the State  House of Assembly have been passing through difficult times including poor welfare due to lack of financial independence.


Comrade Oshafu called on the parliamentary workers to be steadfast, peaceful and committed to the course to ensure better working conditions.


At the time of filing this report security personnel were drafted to the assembly complex to curtail any possible breakdown of law and order.
