  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report. ASUU Awards scholarships to 10 ABU indigent students

The Academic staff union of Universities, ASUU has awarded scholarship grants to ten brilliant indigene students of Ahmadu Bello University zaria. 

The Branch Chairman of the Union, Professor Haruna Mohammed Jibril stated this in an interview with Radio Nigeria in zaria. 

He said the Union instituted the scholarship scheme during its National Executive Council meeting  at Gombe state University in February 2018.

He said under the scheme, the national Union awards #200,000 to two beneficiaries of the grant to assist the indigene students in their academic pursuit. 

The Chairman said the national Union encourages branches to emulate the gesture as ABU Chapter offers additional scholarships to two students from 2018 to 2022.

He added that the #1.6m for eight beneficiaries was in addition to the initial four hundred thousand naira for two beneficiaries from the national body which brings the total money to  two million naira. 

He said that ASUU ABU Chapter disbursed the grant because the students had commenced registration for the new session hence its decision for early release of the funds to beneficiaries. 

According to him, the beneficiaries were bright students who have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 and they also have a history of financial challenges. 

Professor Jibril said the scholarship grants to indigene  students, ASUU had also provided #50m worth of palliatives to the internally Displaced persons across the Northern Nigeria.
