 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Police investigates burning of Monarch House in Plateau

The Plateau State Police Command says it has commenced investigation into the burning of the District Head of Bokkos Saf Adanchin Palace, Bokkos town in Bokkos Local Government Area of the state during a protest in the community.

The spokesperson for the command, Alabo Alfred, explains that calm had been restored in the area and efforts are on to investigate what led to the uproar.

He added that the command was working to bring the perpetrators to justice.

On Friday, Women and Youths took the streets to express their displeasure over the arrest of some community members in connection to Christmas eve killings in the area.

The protesters took their agitation to the Joint Security Task Force Operation Safe Haven base and the Divisional Police Office in the Bokkos Local Government Area community to express their displeasure over the development.

The protesters proceeded to the district head’s palace and eventually set it ablaze
