 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. We ‘re on trail of Lagos PDP chairman abductors — Ogun CP

The Police Command in Ogun, says it is on the trail of abductors of the Lagos State chapter chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Philip Aivoji, who was abducted on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Commissioner of Police (CP) in Ogun, Mr Abiodun Alamutu, said this while speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta on Friday
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Aivoji , was abducted by yet to be identified persons on Thursday evening.
He was abducted at Ogere axis of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, alongside nine other party members who were with him.
They were said to be returning from the party’s Stakeholders’ Zonal Caucus Meeting held in Ibadan when they were abducted.
Alamutu assured that the police would catch up with the abductors of the party chieftain.
He said that the police had engaged the gunmen in a gun duel which forced the abductors to release nine of the abducted while the PDP Chairman was taken away.
“It is true, they were kidnapped on Thursday evening at Ogere on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
“Our men engaged them and in the process nine of the victims were released but the PDP chairman was taken away,” he said.
