No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat. However, once Deiter was pulled to safety, he repaid a stranger's kindness with treachery.  Deiter shoved the captain from his own boat and fled the scene in the stolen boat, leaving the man who had just risked his own vessel and life...

KADUNA SCHOOL ATTACK: EVERY EFFORT SHOULD BE DIRECTED TOWARDS RELEASE OF ABDUCTEES, SAYS OBI. (PHOTO).

Kaduna school attack: Every effort should be directed towards release of abductees, says Obi

Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, says every effort should be directed towards the release of schoolchildren abducted by bandits in Kaduna.

On Thursday morning, bandits abducted over 200 students from a primary and secondary school in the Kuriga community in Chikun LGA of Kaduna.

Obi, in a post on his X page on Friday, said “better security measures need to be implemented to avoid future occurrences”.

“Just yesterday, I was lamenting the horrible spate of killings, terror attacks, and abductions in the country, while calling for more concerted efforts to combat the continuing menace of nationwide insecurity,” he wrote.

“We are again confronted with the ugly news of the abduction of over 200 pupils and students plus a teacher of local primary and junior secondary schools in Kuriga, Chikun Local Government area of Kaduna State.

“While every effort should be directed towards the safe release of the children, better security measures need to be implemented to avoid future occurrences.

“While insecurity has continued to bear down on every sector of our national existence, its negative impact on education will be more devastating for the nation.

“We are already contending with an army of over 18 million out-of-school children, arising from the closure of schools due to insecurity.

“Further attacks on schools will only aggravate these numbers, drive more children into the streets, and add to the insecurity situation of the country.”

The former Anambra governor urged the federal and Kaduna state governments to explore all possible means to ensure the safe return of the abductees.

He also implored Nigerians to continue to work hard and pray for the nation.

“I once again appeal to the government, both state and federal, to explore all possible means to ensure the safe release of the abducted school children and their teachers,” Obi added.

“I urge every Nigerian to continue to work and pray for the nation so that we can collectively conquer these unusual challenges.

“We must ensure that every Nigerian child can pursue their dreams and aspirations in a safe and secure nation.”
