  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  Third Mainland Bridge set to fully reopen on April 4


The Lagos State Government has announced the imminent reopening of the Third Mainland Bridge on April 4, 2024, following extensive repair works.


The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, via his official social media account on Saturday.


In a statement addressing Lagos residents, Osiyemi expressed gratitude for their patience and cooperation throughout the repair period. He conveyed the government’s commitment to ensuring smoother travels ahead for commuters.


The statement read, “Dear Lagos residents, We’re pleased to share that the Third Mainland Bridge will resume full operations on April 4, 2024, following extensive repairs. We sincerely thank you for your patience and cooperation, and we look forward to even smoother travels ahead.”


The decision to partially close the Third Mainland Bridge for repairs was initially announced by the Lagos State Government on January 5, 2024. Subsequently, repair works commenced on January 9, leading to temporary inconveniences for commuters.


With the upcoming full reopening of the bridge, commuters can anticipate improved traffic flow and enhanced transportation efficiency across Lagos. The government’s commitment to infrastructure maintenance and development underscores its dedication to ensuring the safety and convenience of residents and visitors alike.
