 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Labour Party chairman, Abure suspended


The national chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure has been suspended over alleged anti-party activities.


He was suspended by the LP in Ward 3 in Arue-Uromi, in Esan North-East Local Government Area of Edo State.


Letter of his suspension dated May 14, 2024, was approved on Friday, 24th May, night by the state executive committee in Benin.


The suspension letter was signed by the Chairman of the Ward, Thompson Ehiguese, and the Ward Secretary, Stanley Usiomoh.


It advised the embattled national chairman to stop holding out or parading himself as a member of the party.


The suspension, which was endorsed by the State Executive Committee led by Kelly Ogbaloi, takes immediate effect.


Part of the letter reads, “While the suspension is with immediate effect, you are advised to refrain from holding out or parading yourself as a member of Labour Party, Ward 3, Arue, Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State”.
