 NAF ENHANCES FRONTLINE SURVIVABILITY WITH COMBAT LIFE SAVER TRAINING The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has enhanced its frontline survivability and operational readiness with the successful conduct of a Combat Life Saver Course for instructors of the Regiment Training Centre (RTC). Conducted by the Air Mobile First Aid Unit (AMFAU) of the Nigerian Air Force School of Medical Sciences and Aviation Medicine (NAFSMSAM), the training equipped participants with critical battlefield casualty management skills that will be replicated across Regiment units. Inaugurating the course, the Commandant of NAFSMSAM, Air Vice Marshal AC Ekpe, underscored the vital role of combat life-saving skills in improving operational effectiveness and increasing battlefield survivability.  TROOPS NEUTRALIZE IPOB/ESN IED EXPERT



Troops of the Nigerian Army in conjunction with sister services and other security agencies on Wednesday 2 May 2024 neutralized an Improvised Explosive Devices (IED)expert of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed affiliate Eastern Security Network (ESN) in Orsu - Ihitteukwa, Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State. 


The  troops  comprising the Nigerian Army, Navy, Air Force, Nigerian Police, Department of States Services and the Nigerian Securities and Civil Defence Corps whowere on a clearance operation around Udaah, Identa Ihitteukwa and Awo Idemili in Orsu LGA of Imo State, made contact with the dissidents, who opened fire, lobbed hand held IEDs and launched locally  made rockets (Ogbunigwe) at the advancing troops. 


While the troops advanced, several IEDs were detonated by the terrorists who fled in disarray. One of the dissidents was  neutralized, while connecting the explosive  to its power source.


Items recovered include locally made rocket launchers, defused IEDs, pipes, wires and other materials used in the production of  explosives and locally made rocket launchers. The troops also covered several ditches used as obstacles on the roads linking the communities by the ESN elements.


The Nigerian Army will continue to conduct its operations to deter the irredentist from freedom of action.
