 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta.  One feared dead, seven rescued in Lagos building collapse


A child was feared dead on Wednesday when a building collapsed at 10, Cameroon street in Mushin, Lagos. 

Seven other residents were also reportedly rescued by sympathisers from the rubbles. 

A resident said the building collapsed following heavy downpours in many parts of Lagos. 

She said the Lagos rescue team was yet to respond to emergency calls as of the time of filing this report.

A two-storey building has collapsed in Lagos as the state battles torrential rain which has triggered flood in many parts of the state.


The building collapsed at No 12 Cameroun Street off Ewenla in Mushin.


The state emergency management agency (LASEMA), in an update on the incident, said upon arrival of the response team at the scene of the incident, it was discovered that a newly constructed two storey building collapsed.


Seven (7) people, 3 females and 4 males were rescued and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment


The Agency search and rescue team have searched the rubble and can confirmed that there is no victim underneath the collapsed building. The area had been cordoned off.


Operation still on going, said Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of LASEMA.
