 Prince William and Kate Middleton bring George, Charlotte and Louis to Commonwealth Games for first Scotland public outing Prince William and Kate Middleton brought their three children to the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, marking the siblings’ first official public appearance in Scotland. The Prince and Princess of Wales, both 44, attended the sporting event on Saturday, Aug. 1, during their summer break with Prince George, 13, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8. While in Scotland, where William and Kate are known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay, the family spent time with Team Wales athletes and their families. The couple also visited SportsAid, an organisation that supports young athletes. Kate has served as patron of the organisation since 2013. Police IG, Egbetokun Gets 3-Year Tenure Extension


President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the extension of the tenure of Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, by three years.


The disclosure was made by sources at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.


The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the IGP’s tenure was extended despite his impending retirement age of 60, which he will reach tomorrow, September 4, 2024.


According to the sources, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, presented the IGP with a letter confirming his tenure extension on Monday.


A senior security officer at the SGF Office also confirmed that the IGP received his letter of tenure extension from Akume on Monday morning.


The move comes after the Senate passed a bill amending the Police Act 2020, which introduced a new clause allowing police officers to serve for 40 years or until they reach the age of 65, whichever comes first.


Egbetokun, who was appointed IGP in June 2023, would have been due for retirement tomorrow.
