 ACCORD PARTY GARNERS SUPPORT FOR GOVERNOR ADELEKE FOR SECOND TERM Ahead of the August 15th Osun State governorship election, Accord party has urged the people of the state to re-elect Governor Ademola Adeleke, describing his administration as one that has delivered significant progress in infrastructure, education, healthcare, security and workers' welfare. In a statement, the party's National Chairman,  Maxwell Mgbudem, said Governor Adeleke's achievements justify a second term and expressed confidence that voters would support the continuity of his administration. The party also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies to remain neutral and ensure a free, fair, credible and transparent election. It further warned against vote buying, insisting that every valid vote must count, and described the Osun governorship election as a key test of INEC's readiness for the 2027 general election.

A 19-YEAR-OLD BTECH STUDENT JUMPED FROM THE 4TH FLOOR OF HIS COLLEGE HOSTEL IN COIMBATORE, BELIEVING HE HAD SUPERPOWERS. (PHOTO).


 A 19-year-old BTech student jumped from the fourth floor of his college hostel in Coimbatore, believing he had superpowers. The student, identified as A Prabhu, a resident of Mekkur village near Perundurai in Erode district, is in his third year at Karpagam College of Engineering, studying Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The incident occurred on Monday evening at the college’s hostel in Myleripalayam, Coimbatore district.


Prabhu reportedly told his friends and roommates he believed he had superhero-like powers that would protect him if he jumped from a building. He had also mentioned to his friends that he felt he was affected by sorcery or black magic in the past week. On Monday around 6:30 p.m., while other students were chatting on the hostel veranda, Prabhu suddenly jumped off the fourth floor.


The fall caused serious injuries, including fractures to his legs and hands and a head injury. Fellow hostel students immediately rushed him to Karpagam Hospital for first aid. Later, he was transferred to Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore city for further treatment.


Prabhu is currently receiving medical care, and authorities are investigating the incident. The college and police are expected to look into his mental state and any possible external factors that may have influenced his actions.
