In a shocking scam in Gandhinagar, Morris Samuel Christian was arrested for posing as a judge and running a fake tribunal to deceive people involved in land disputes since 2019. Christian set up a fake courtroom with associates acting as court staff, making the operation seem legitimate. He charged victims large sums, promising quick solutions to their disputes.
Christian passed false judgments, including one instructing the district collector to alter land records in Paldi. He falsely claimed to be a government-appointed arbitrator, exploiting the legal system for personal gain.
The scam was exposed when court registrar Hardik Desai found that Christian was not a real arbitrator and that his tribunal orders were fraudulent. An FIR was filed, leading to his arrest under charges of impersonating a public servant and cheating by personation.
Christian has a history of such crimes, with a similar complaint filed against him in 2015 at the Maninagar police station, raising concerns about his long-running illegal activities.
