Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. KEBBI STATE GOVERNOR GIFTS EMIRS IN THE STATE NEW SUVs

Kebbi state Governor, Nasiru Idris recently presented four new Toyota Land Cruisers to the emirs of Yauri, Argungu, Zuru, and Gwandu in Kebbi State.

The governor emphasized the necessity of providing these new vehicles, citing the old state of the emirs' previous official vehicles.

“The government has given new vehicles to members of the House of Assembly, commissioners, security services, and chairmen of boards, departments and agencies for optimal operation.

“Today, we are tackling our royal fathers’ transportation problems, because you have been riding in old vehicles.

“Morally speaking, as a government, we know what traditional rulers are doing nationwide in contributing to peace and stability among communities.”

He assured that his administration will continue to prioritize the welfare of the emirs as custodians of Islamic culture and tradition.

This donation comes amid a period of economic hardship for citizens following the removal of fuel subsidy.

Governor Idris previously distributed SUVs to members of the State House of Assembly earlier this year, emphasizing that this gesture symbolizes the administration's commitment to serving the people of Kebbi State diligently.

This action is not unique to Kebbi State, as numerous state and federal governments have allocated public funds for luxury items, drawing criticism from the public. For instance, the Tinubu administration faced backlash for allowing lawmakers to purchase new vehicles while citizens endured economic hardships caused by government policies.

The administration has also faced criticisms for spending N21 billion on a new residence for the vice president, buying a new presidential jet, and other controversial expenses.
