 BADAGRY ANGELS WIN LAGOS SOFTBALL TOURNEY  Badagry Angels have been crowned champions of the Lagos U-15 Softball Championship held recently at the Badagry Grammar School playing field, Badagry. The five-day tournament, which began on November 11, 2024, ended on Friday, November 15 where eight teams participated in the competition designed to drive the growth of the sport at the grassroots level. As Champions of the tournament, Badagry Angels showcased their dexterity and skills against Rak Angels in the grand finale, maintaining their good position and dominance on the field before finally trouncing their opponents 9 runs to 1. With turnout reaching more than 50 %, the referendum on whether Moldovans want to join the European Union will be valid.


A turnout of at least 33,33 % was needed.


Polls showed the yes will likely win as some anti-EU parties called for a boycott.


Moldova’s President Maia Sandu, who is running for re-election on Sunday, said after casting her ballot in the simultaneous referendum on EU integration that the ex-Soviet country is facing a historic choice.


Sandu said the outcome of the referendum "will define our fate for many decades to come" - alluding to the implicit decision about whether Moldova will orient itself towards Europe or Russia.
