Two Arrested for Vandalism and Theft of Government Property


In a proactive move, the Bauchi State Police Command has successfully apprehended two individuals linked to the vandalism and theft of government assets worth millions at ongoing project sites.


The suspects, identified as Ibrahim Mohammed Inuwa, a 26-year-old truck driver, and Ukasha Abdulmalik, a 17-year-old resident of Karofin Madaki, were caught red-handed on December 5, 2024, at about 11:00 AM loading a stolen concrete cave belonging to Bauchi state government. This operation was spearheaded by SP David Silas, who oversees the Command’s Works Department and in conjunction with Bauchi State Ministry of Works.


During investigation, Ibrahim, the principal suspect, claimed he purchased the stolen concrete caves for an astonishing price of ₦350 each from two unidentified individuals along Emir’s Drive, Bauchi. He used his truck to transport them to his residence. However, the police are actively pursuing the other suspects involved in this crime and are committed to bringing them to justice. Meanwhile, the truck and the stolen concrete caves have been recovered as exhibits. 


Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Mohammed, psc, Anipr, emphasized the Command's unwavering commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against vandalism. He assured the community that a thorough investigation is underway to ensure the perpetrators face the full weight of the law. The CP also urged residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
