  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  Gov. Okpebholo Bids Farewell to Senate


Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, bid an emotional farewell to the Senate on Wednesday, reflecting on his brief but impactful tenure representing the Edo Central Senatorial District. In a heartfelt valedictory speech delivered on the Senate floor, Okpebholo expressed gratitude for the camaraderie he experienced during his year-long service.


“Distinguished colleagues, this is a very emotional moment for me,” Okpebholo began. “Since joining the 10th Senate in June 2023, every moment here has been incredibly memorable. We viewed ourselves as champions of democracy, striving for the best for our nation. Though my time in the Senate was brief, my journey has led me to pursue the dream of becoming governor, and today I stand as the Governor of Edo State.”


He acknowledged the immense support he received from his Senate colleagues, stating that his journey would not be complete without them. He particularly thanked Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, for his encouragement during his campaign, as well as Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin for his wise political counsel.


“I am deeply grateful to my Senate Majority Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, for being a true brother, and to all my fellow senators. The relationships built here in the chambers have been invaluable.”


Governor Okpebholo also shared that his time in the Senate influenced his governance approach, particularly in areas like infrastructure, security, education, and health. He expressed pride in the collective successes achieved during his time as a senator.


Okpebholo, who was elected as a first-time senator for Edo Central on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform, also served as the Senate Committee Chairman on Public Procurement before stepping down to assume the role of governor.
