The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed several establishments, including Celestial Church, The Lord's Chosen Church, hotels, and restaurants, due to violations of noise pollution regulations.
In a statement issued on Monday, LASEPA’s General Manager confirmed that this action was part of the agency's ongoing efforts to address environmental infractions that pose a threat to public health and safety across the state.
Ajayi emphasized that the crackdown was aimed at mitigating the adverse effects of persistent noise pollution in various neighborhoods.
The affected areas include Shomolu, Jakande-Lekki, Oniru Victoria Island, Badore Ajah, Sangotedo, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lekki II, Ogombo, and Lekki Phase 1, among others.
The establishments impacted by the closure include Celestial Church, Zodiac Lounge, The Lord’s Chosen Church, Pixel Park Studio, Sneakers Suites & Bar, Wimpy Hotel, Handsworth Hotel, SBL Hotels, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Church, West Syde Exclusive Hotel & Suites, and Kobis Restaurant.
The statement stressed that "Noise pollution and other environmental violations disrupt the peace and health of our communities" and reinforced the agency's "zero-tolerance policy" toward violators, underscoring its commitment to strict enforcement of environmental laws.
