  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  Zamfara Government Launches Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Program


The Zamfara State Ministry of Health has officially launched the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Program in the state. The initiative, which was spearheaded by Dr. Aisha M. Z. Anka, the former Commissioner for Health (now redeployed to the Ministry of Women, Children, and Social Development Affairs), aims to address mental health issues and provide psychosocial support.


Dr. Anka shared details about the program at the inception and Structure and Engagement meeting held at the Karma Hotel Conference Hall in Gusau, the state capital. She explained that the program was developed by the Department of Public Health Services.


The state is set to open a dedicated mental health case management clinic to further enhance the delivery of mental health and psychosocial services.


Pharmacist Sani Bello, Executive Secretary of the Drug Management Agency, expressed appreciation to Governor Dauda Lawal for his continued support, particularly in the development and upgrading of primary health care centers and the transformation of Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital into a Teaching Hospital.


Dr. Yusuf Abubakar Haske, Director of Public Health, acknowledged the contributions of key partners, including WHO, UNICEF, IRC, the Red Cross, Health Africa, and various government bodies, and committed to ensuring the successful implementation of the program.
