 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Anambra State Women Protest Death Of  Woman Burnt To Death By Husband 



Women from the 179 communities in Anambra State have embarked on a peaceful demonstration to mourn Late Mrs Blessing Nwaka, the woman who was burnt to death by her husband in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area of the state. 


The women led their protest to the office of the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare at Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Center Awka. 


The protesters were made up of reputable women from different women associations including Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU led by the National President of ASATU Women Wing, Mrs Ify Okaro. 


Mrs Okaro warned their male counterparts to handle their spouses with care and love and avoid situations that will lead to violence. 


Also, the representative of the Women Leaders of communities, Mrs Josine Unachukwu, promised to raze down houses of anyone that will kill their spouses again in the state. 


Responding, Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo assured the women of the resolve of the wife of the Governor, Mrs Nonye Soludo to ensure that justice takes its full course and called on men to always report their wives to the ministry instead of taking laws into their hands.


The women who were visibly sad over the incident chanted, "marriage is not a do or die affair", "anujuo must go"; and "stop killing women" as they continued their protest.
