 TROOPS APPREHEND SUSPECTED TERRORIST COLLABORATORS, FAMILY OF ISWAP FINANCE CHIEF SURRENDERS, RECOVER LOGISTICS ITEMS Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have continued to sustain pressure on  terrorists through series of intelligence-led operations that resulted in the arrest of suspected terrorist collaborators, the surrender of the family members of a senior ISWAP commander, and the recovery of terrorist logistics items. In one of the operations conducted on 27 July 2026, troops of 5 Brigade arrested six ISWAP collaborators in Damasak, Borno State. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were allegedly generating funds for the terrorist group through the procurement and sale of cattle at designated markets in Gubio, Damasak and Ajuwango. Items recovered from the suspects included one Volkswagen Golf vehicle, vehicle keys, four mobile phones of different brands, cow meat and the sum of ₦317,950.00.  Bandit Leaders Surrender Arms and Captives in Batsari, Katsina State. 


Following intense military operations by the combined forces of Op FASAN YANMA, bandit leaders Abu Radde and Umar Black, operating in Batsari and Safana LGAs in Katsina State have surrendered their arms and captives. This move marks a significant step towards ending banditry and criminality in the region.


The surrender ceremony, which took place on January 19, 2025 at Batsari, was attended by all stakeholders, including military representatives, to ensure transparency. The bandits handed over four AK47 rifles and 15 captives, comprising three males, eight females, and four children.


It was emphasized that this surrender was not a negotiation or peace meeting, but rather a crucial step towards the bandits' complete disarmament and release of all kidnapped victims. The surrendered arms, which are in good condition, are now in the custody of the 17 Brigade, while the rescued captives have been handed over to the Local Government Authorities for rehabilitation and aftercare.
