NMDPRA Seals Seven Fuel Stations in Kogi for Under-Dispensing

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has shut down seven fuel stations in Kogi State for under-dispensing fuel and unauthorized branding.

Kogi State NMDPRA Coordinator, Ogbe Godwin, announced the enforcement action at a press briefing in Lokoja on Thursday.

He condemned the act, stating, “We are not stopping marketers from selling at their own price, but cheating consumers will not be tolerated. Under-dispensing fuel is a serious offense, and violators will face legal consequences.”

Following inspections of 50 fuel stations in the state, seven were found guilty of under-dispensing and ordered to pay penalties to the federal government. The affected outlets include:

-Solag Resources Limited (Ankpa)

-Hismus Oil and Gas (Obajana)

-Riyenic Global Limited (Oke-Ibukun, Kabba)

-S.O.T Nigeria Limited (Omuo Kabba)

-Marktot Oil and Gas (Kabba) - for unauthorized branding

-NIPCO Filling Station (Phase 1, Lokoja)

Additionally, four filling stations in Ankpa were shut down for operating without a license. These include:

-Absala Oil and Gas

-Yak Ali Oil and Gas

-Yamuda Nigeria Limited

Godwin warned that unregistered operators should comply with licensing regulations or face legal action, emphasizing that the government will not allow any acts of sabotage in fuel distribution.
