 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. REAL MADRID ICON MARCELO CALLS TIME ON ILLUSTRIOUS CAREER. (PHOTO).


 


After a storied 16-year career with Real Madrid, former left-back Marcelo has announced his retirement from professional football. The 36-year-old, who won numerous accolades with Los Blancos, including six La Liga titles and five Champions League trophies, shared the news in a heartfelt video on social media.


Marcelo reflected on his remarkable journey, which began when Real Madrid signed him at just 18 years old. "What a journey. Real Madrid is a unique club," he said, expressing his pride at becoming a "true 'Madrileno'".


During his time at Real Madrid, Marcelo made 546 appearances, scoring 38 goals, and won several other titles, including two Copa del Rey trophies and four Club World Cup victories. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez praised Marcelo as "one of the greatest left-backs in Real Madrid and world football history", describing him as "one of our greatest legends".


Marcelo also had a distinguished international career, earning 58 caps for Brazil and participating in two World Cups, as well as winning the 2013 Confederations Cup and two Olympic medals.


After leaving Real Madrid, Marcelo had brief stints with Olympiakos and Fluminense, helping the latter win the Copa Libertadores in 2023. He parted ways with Fluminense by mutual consent in November 2023 and has not played professionally since.
