 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. ANIMAL CRUELTY IN INDIA: POLICE ARRESTED A MAN FOR ALLEGEDLY SEXUALLY ASSAULTING AND MUTILATING A STRAY DOG. (PHOTO).


 In a shocking case of animal cruelty, Bengaluru police have arrested a man for allegedly sexually assaulting and mutilating a stray dog. The horrifying incident came to light when Vidya, a local animal lover who regularly feeds strays, found the injured dog and rushed it to safety.  


The distressing condition of the dog prompted immediate intervention, with animal welfare activists and concerned citizens demanding strict action. Police launched an investigation based on Vidya’s report, leading to the suspect’s arrest. Authorities are now examining the full extent of the abuse and considering stringent legal action.  


The case has sparked outrage across social media, with calls for harsher punishment for crimes against animals. Activists argue that such cruelty highlights the urgent need for stronger animal protection laws and stricter enforcement.  


Meanwhile, the rescued dog is receiving medical care and is on the path to recovery. Animal rights groups continue to push for justice, ensuring such heinous acts do not go unpunished.
