 HAJJ 2026: 1600 LAGOS PILGRIMS ARRIVE SAFELY FROM MAKKAH The 1,600 Lagos pilgrims who participated in the just-concluded Hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have all arrived safely to join their respective families. The safe arrival of the last and final batch of 187 pilgrims on Saturday marked the conclusion of the 2026 Hajj operations. Speaking to journalists at the tarmac of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, the Amir-ul-Hajj and State Commissioner of Home Affairs, Ibrahim Layode said that the spiritual exercise was a success for Lagos State. The Commissioner who attributed the success to the exemplary conduct of the pilgrims while in the Holy Land maintained that the State also made adequate arrangements by engaging critical stakeholders ahead of the journey.  ATM Bombers Flee Empty-Handed, Police Launch Manhunt


Limpopo police are searching for a group of suspects who bombed an ATM at a filling station in Bolobedu South, Mopani District, on Friday, 07 March 2025, at around 04:00.


The suspects, estimated to be eight in number, arrived at the scene and detonated explosives on an ATM near a taxi rank. However, their plan backfired when they discovered the machine had no cash.


While committing the crime, they opened fire on two unsuspecting minibus operators, injuring both men, aged 29 and 41. The victims were rushed to the hospital and are in stable condition. The suspects then fled in a Quantum minibus with an unknown registration number.


Police recovered spent cartridges, ammunition, and a projectile at the scene. A manhunt is underway, and anyone with information is urged to contact Colonel Richard Boshomane at 079 894 5501.
