 Prince William and Kate Middleton bring George, Charlotte and Louis to Commonwealth Games for first Scotland public outing Prince William and Kate Middleton brought their three children to the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, marking the siblings’ first official public appearance in Scotland. The Prince and Princess of Wales, both 44, attended the sporting event on Saturday, Aug. 1, during their summer break with Prince George, 13, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8. While in Scotland, where William and Kate are known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay, the family spent time with Team Wales athletes and their families. The couple also visited SportsAid, an organisation that supports young athletes. Kate has served as patron of the organisation since 2013. The Commonwealth Games, held every four years, brings together athletes from across the Commonwealth of Nations.  International Women's Day Celebration: Onitsha North LG Mayor Champions Gender Equality

Hon. Nweze Tony Nwora, Mayor of Onitsha North LGA, marked International Women's Day by championing the 2025 theme, "Accelerate Action and the Pursuit of Gender Equality". In his address, he highlighted the urgent need to dismantle systemic barriers and advance lasting gender equality across all sectors.


The Mayor emphasized that his administration's inclusive approach began at the outset of his tenure by ensuring significant representation of women in his cabinet. "Women bring invaluable contributions to every facet of society, and their pivotal roles in community development must be recognized and celebrated," he remarked.


Mayor Nwora urged stakeholders to view this year's theme as a call to action, encouraging the implementation of effective measures to improve opportunities for women and to reinforce commitments to sustainable and equitable development.


 "We must work together to create environments where women can thrive, driving progress and innovation," he added.


Extending his best wishes to the women of Onitsha North and beyond, Mayor Nwora concluded by celebrating their achievements and reaffirming his commitment to gender inclusivity. 


"Happy International Women's Day to all women—your strength and resilience are the backbone of our community," he declared.
