 IGP DISU PAYS OPERATIONAL VISIT TO  AKWA IBOM, PRESIDES OVER PASSING-OUT CEREMONY OF 1,068 RETRAINED CONSTABLES The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, today, 30th April 2026, undertook an official visit to Akwa Ibom State, where he paid a courtesy call on the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, ahead of the passing-out ceremony of retrained Police Constables in Uyo. A TEXAS MAN ATTACKED HIS MOTHER WITH A HAMMER AND THEN TALKED ABOUT IT ON A GAMING PLATFORM. (PHOTO).

 A Texas man attacked his mother with a hammer and then talked about it on a gaming platform. 


24-year-old Robert Babin carried out a brutal attack on his mother on Wednesday, June 11th. After carrying out the attack, Babin allegedly took to an online gaming platform to confess to the crime and ask for advice.


According to court documents, Babin said he was "in trouble and needed help". He went on to say he hit his mother a few times on the side  of the head with a hammer and "didn't want to end up on death row". 


The friend advised Babin to call the police before he presumably contacting authorities himself. 


When officers arrived at the Harris County  Texas home, they discovered Babin's 64-year-old mother unresponsive and showing severe injuries on her head in the backyard. Robert was not home when police arrived but a short time later he arrived at the scene. He told police he had went to the store and his mother was napping before he left.


The 64-year-old victim was taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital where she remains in serious condition. 


We do hope she has a full recovery. 


Robert Babin was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He remains in custody.
