BENUE: TSE-ANYUNUKU TURNS GHOST COMMUNITY AFTER BANDITRY ATTACKS

22nd July, 2025

Tse-Anyunuku, a village in Ugbaam council ward of Ukum Local Government Area, Benue State, remains deserted after years of relentless bandit attacks.

The once thriving rural community has become a shadow of itself, with residents forced to flee due to persistent insecurity.

Local sources say armed bandits and herdsmen have made the area uninhabitable, carrying out repeated raids that have led to killings, destruction of homes, and widespread displacement. For years, villagers have been unable to return, as no security intervention has guaranteed their safety.

Tse-Anyunuku is one of many communities in Ukum LGA suffering from prolonged insecurity, highlighting the urgent need for lasting government response and humanitarian support.
