 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Engagement with Retired Police Officers, Fostering Partnership and Welfare:


The Rivers State Police Command organized a special interactive session with members of the Rivers State Chapter of the National Association of Retired Police Officers on 18th. July, 2025, held at the Police Officers' Mess, Old GRA in Port Harcourt. The meeting provided a platform for meaningful deliberations and interactions between the Command's management team, led by Commissioner of Police CP Olugbenga A. Adepoju, psc, mnips, and the retired Officers.


During the engagement, the Command seeks to understand better, the needs and concerns of retired Police Officers, while communicating its initiatives and plans for enhancing their welfare.


In his keynote address, CP Adepoju conveyed a significant message, emphasizing the commitment to enhancing the welfare and living standards of retired Police Officers. He underscored the importance of this initiative and solicited the understanding and cooperation of the retired Officers as the Police Authorities works towards achieving these goals.


 Senior retired Police Officers, including Dr. Mrs. Abuwa Adenike AIG rtd  and Mrs. Peterside Tamunomie AIG rtd. participated actively in the session. They expressed their individual and collective support for the Police Authorities aspirations and further affirmed their willingness to collaborate in sustaining the efforts aimed at improving the welfare of retired Officers.


At the conclusion of the session, the Command extended its sincere appreciation to the retired Officers for dedicating their time to attend the session on short notice and for their valuable contributions to the discussions.
