 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Kun Khalifat FC Rejects Selling NPFL Slot, Open to Imo State Government Adoption


Michael Chukwudi, CEO of Kun Khalifat Football Club, has declared that the club will not sell its Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) slot to any team but would welcome adoption by the Imo State Government. Speaking on Magic FM Aba on July 29, 2025, Chukwudi stated, “We will not sell our NPFL slot to any team, but if the Imo State Government calls in to adopt the club, we will welcome that.”


Chukwudi also expressed confidence in the team’s performance for the upcoming NPFL season, asserting, “Kun Khalifat will not finish lower than 10th position in the NPFL.” He further noted that the team feels no pressure despite being the only club representing Imo State in the league this season, adding, “The team doesn’t feel any pressure being the only team representing Imo State in this season’s NPFL.”


The CEO’s remarks come amid speculation about the club’s future and its role in elevating Imo State’s presence in Nigerian football. Chukwudi emphasized the club’s commitment to maintaining its NPFL status and delivering a strong performance. Discussions with potential stakeholders, including the Imo State Government, are expected to continue as the club prepares for the season.
