 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Race: Falconets soar over She-Amavubi in Kigali


 


Nigeria’s U20 girls, Falconets, pipped hosts Rwanda 1-0 in a 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup second round, first leg qualifying match in Kigali on Sunday.


 Both teams fought hard on the pitch of the Kigali-Pele Stadium, located in the Nyamirambo district of the city, but there was no breakthrough for either side in a gritty first 45 minutes.


 Alaba Olabiyi scored from a goalmouth scramble off a corner kick in the 70th minute to give Nigeria victory, and put smiles on the face of Head Coach Moses Aduku in his first outing with the team.


 Both teams will clash in the return at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan on Saturday
