Lagos police launch investigation as jeweller  accuses its officers of harassment The Lagos State Police Command said it has commenced an investigation into a viral video of a jeweller accusing some policemen in the Festac area of the state of harassing him.  The command disclosed this in an X post on Saturday. The video, which circulated on X on Saturday morning, shows the businessman engaged in a struggle with some policemen. Later in the video, the businessman could be seen with a bloody face after allegedly sustaining a cut beside his right eye during the struggle with the police officers,  The jeweller later explained that the policemen from the Festac Division had stopped him for a routine search.  2026 WCQ: Super Eagles must beat Rwanda, South Africa – Chukwueze


Samuel Chukwueze has said it is important for the Super Eagles to win their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa, DAILY POST reports.

Eric Chelle’s men currently sit in fourth position in Group C with seven points from six games.

Bafana Bafana of South Africa top the standings with 13 points from the same number of matches.

Chukwueze claimed winning both games will boost the Super Eagles’ chances of securing a place at the global soccer fiesta.

“For now I am just focusing on the game. We need the two games, Rwanda and South Africa. So, I think we have to win the two games to secure our World Cup ticket,” the winger told Fulham TV after completing his loan move from AC Milan.

Chukwueze is expected to hit camp on Tuesday (today) for the crucial qualifiers.

Nigeria will welcome Rwanda in a matchday seven fixture at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Saturday.

The West Africans will keep a date with South Africa three days later in Bloemfontein.
